This is a Regency rosewood inlaid lace box. On the lid is a detailed diamond inlaid pattern circumnavigating the box and the lid. The box rests on ornate repousse gilt metal paw feet, matched in detail by the double headed eagle gilt brass handles on the sides.
The domed hinged top is decorated with a marine scene of sailing ships near the cliffs of Dover. The box encloses a generous open interior great for storing cherished valuables.
