Modern Sustainably Sourced, Exotic Hawaiian Woods Box

This is an exceptional box from the Californian box artist, A. French. The box is made of solid (not veneered) Hawaiian mango, Hawaiian monkeypod and ebony, which were sustainably sourced. As these are endangered woods, they can only be logged if they die and fall naturally. The wood that makes this box came from these naturally fallen trees and obtained through vetted wood suppliers in Hawaii.

These woods in this box are stunningly iridescent and catch the light beautifully when moved around. The way the box has been finished using 3000 grit sand paper makes the wood both inside and out feel like soft cashmere.

The design of the box is modern with a black iron handle. The interior is lined with a purple velvet that can be removed if desired. This box is a great opportunity to get a piece of art made of very hard to get exotic hard woods. The design and style would grace any home.
