Art Deco Jewellery Box with Chariot Rider and Horses

This is a jewellery box inlaid with a variety of woods including walnut, ebony, boxwood and king wood. On the lid is a winged god driving a chariot with two horses in the front. Around the base is a typical art deco motive of repeating flowers. Inside the lid is a mirror surrounded by mahogany with a void interior lined in Florentinian hand-made paper. On the base is a black felt baize.
