A Victorian Coromandel Jewellery Box

This a striking jewellery box, beautifully crafted out of coromandel wood. There is a Greek key inlaid motif in brass that makes a stark contrast to the rich wood. The interior is lined in a dark red silk that changes colour depending the angle you look at it. The silk fabric is on the inside of the lid, at the bottom of the interior and lines the interior tray. Dark red leather lines the walls of the lid, sides of the interior and the tray a well. There is a working lock and key.
