19TH CENTURY French EBONY AND BRASS INLAID LADY'S VANITY BOX

£610

This exquisite 19th-century inlaid lady's vanity box is crafted from ebony and brass. The lid and front panel of the box are inlaid and feature a foliate scroll made from brass and mother-of-pearl. Opening the box reveals an ornately structured frame comprising three compartments, including two glass and gilt perfume bottles and an assortment of finely-crafted tools and implements.

The box's interior is lined with a luxurious ruched red and cream silk and an elegant decorative trim, and the lid is hinged to reveal a mirror inside. The external corners of the box feature an intricate scroll design and are bevelled with brass inlay to catch and reflect the light. This box comes with its original lock and key, which are both in fully working condition. Please note that the silk interior of the box shows some signs of light wear and tear.
